Received a Call from “HOYT LEGAL?”

We have recently been made aware that individuals are receiving spoofed or fraudulent phone calls from scammers falsely claiming to be associated with Hoyt Law Firm or “Hoyt Legal.”

Please be advised: This is not our firm! Our office is not making these calls. We will never call you out of the blue to demand immediate payment, request personal financial information, or threaten legal action over the phone. If you receive a suspicious call from someone claiming to be with our firm, please hang up immediately. Do not provide them with any personal information, credit card numbers, or wire transfers.

HOW TO REPORT THESE CALLS:

If you have received one of these fraudulent calls or have been targeted by this scam, we strongly encourage you to report it to the following regulatory authorities:

The State Bar of California (Unauthorized Practice of Law): Call 1-800-843-9053 or file an online complaint at calbar.ca.gov.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC): Call 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357) or report the scam at reportfraud.ftc.gov.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC): Report caller ID spoofing at consumercomplaints.fcc.gov or call 1-888-CALL-FCC.
